Beets, Banana and Berry Smoothie

Beets, Banana and Berry Smoothie

Only a while ago I discovered how insanely incredible beets are! I had only known them pickled, and since we don’t like pickled anything (with the exception of ginger and olives), I unjustifiably ignored them. They have a great deal of health benefits, however, and if you prepare them right they are unbelievably tasty. They are a good source of vitamin C, iron and magnesium, and a very good source of dietary fiber, folate, potassium and manganese. The second super delicious and healthy ingredient is banana. Bananas are rich in potassium, which we need to maintain normal blood pressure. They are also high in fiber, vitamin B6, manganese, vitamin C, biotin and copper. It doesn’t matter which berries you choose for the smoothie because they are all full of antioxidants and loaded with fiber. Flax seeds give the beets, banana and berry smoothie an extra health boost because they are loaded with omega-3 fatty acids and provide you with extra fiber. Deep purple root gives the smoothie a gorgeous color and banana balances the sourness of the berries and earthly taste of the beet. It is super easy, healthy, and delicious, and you just must try it!
